Same Old, Same Old

Not much has changed around our house in the past several weeks.  We did take the time to go camping and again Bud caught a couple dozen nice catfish.  He is going to think he's a fisherman one of these days!  We continue to come home each night and work on the house until 8:30 or 9:00, eat supper, and fall into bed only to repeat the next day.  We will both be happy if/when this house is done.  Travis and Kerry came over after the awful Iowa game Saturday and I taught Kerry how to can apple pie filling while Bud and Travis added steps to the front porch.  Sunday the girls were all here along with the grandsons and Tanner.  Ruth practiced hairstyles for the wedding on Tasha and Trina.  We had a great supper and everyone left in time to go home and watch the new Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters!

GO HAWKS!!!

Saturday started out rainy.  We packed our ponchos and headed for our tailgating spot about 6:30 a.m.  We made a quick stop at the Amish bakery on the way.  Travis and Kerry were there to save our spots about 6:15 a.m.  Once there we visited, read the paper, and then made breakfast burritos and ate.  It rained off and on all morning.  We headed for the stadium about 10:00 a.m.  The stadium was full even with the rainy weather.  It was a great defensive game by the Hawkeyes.  Once again, we did not let the opposition(Iowa State) score a touch down!  We stayed until the end and went home happy with a score of Iowa 17  Iowa State 5.  The Cy-Hawk Trophy is now where it belongs!!

Fun In San Francisco

I journeyed to San Francisco in July with many of my colleagues.  We had a great time sightseeing and of course learning at the conference.  Our hotel, The Fairmont, was fabulous. We went across and under the Golden Gate Bridge, toured Alcatraz Island, rode the trolley cars, toured China Town, and more.  We had a lot of great laughs and an overall great time!
This photo was taken on a cold blistery day the Sunday before Christmas.  We really shouldn't have been out in the weather, but we had the photographer booked and plans for a family gathering at Kathy's.  After all the color coordinating the girls did we were too cold to take off our winter coats!
