A Snowy Day Inside and Out

Since we got more snow last night I thought it might be time to share my snowman decorations.  I love to decorate my home, so when I put away Christmas decorations the snowmen come out.  Soon I will decorate for spring and Easter.  But for now.....

 The mantle is flanked by the Frozen tree for the grandkids, and several evergreens, along with snowmen.

The snowman quilt that I made hangs above the couch.

The bar between the living room and kitchen is full of snowmen.  Some I made, some gifts, and some purchased.

The snowman tree is still gracing the sunroom along with a few other snowmen.

The many snowmen greet you as you step into the foyer.

And the dining room has a few wintery things, but I really ran out of steam on the table centerpiece.  That's on my list to fix for next year!

Can't leave out the bathroom!

And then just a few miscellaneous things around.

Yes, there were several little peeks of Valentine's.  I don't really decorate 

for it, but I have a couple of things out.

And now soon I will put them all away again for another year.  

Maybe if I put them away this weekend spring with sprout sooner!

One can always hope!

Snowman Love

It is snowing here tonight so I thought I'd share my snowman decorating.  I know that most people have switched to Valentine's decorating, but it's hard for me to switch when it's still snowing!

Decorating Dilemma--Help!

My friends, family, and followers have great ideas and suggestions so I'm turning to you for decorating help!!

I fell in love with this quilted wall hanging pattern when I saw it. The base looks like this:

Then throughout the year I will change out the panel in the middle to coordinate with the season. Right now I have this one made:

And I plan to make these:

My dilemma is where to hang it. Originally when I bought the pattern I thought I would hang it on my front door. The front door is covered by the porch roof so it wouldn't get wet, snowed on, etc. But, then I realized the damage the flies and other insects would have. So I vetoed that. We tried out some places in the house, but I can't decide. Please help!

We tried it here, between the windows and the french doors in the family room.

Or here, between the windows and the bookshelves in the family room.

Or it could possibly go in the dining room. (sorry about the flash--I'm not a photographer)

It could go on the inside front door, but the outside door usually has a wreath of some type on it, so you wouldn't see it from outside, and I do like the glass in the door.

Or I could move the photo (sticking out the sides) and put it here in the foyer.

I really think it belongs somewhere by the door, but I'm not sold on any of the places. Please leave me a comment and make your suggestion. If you know my house and you can think of a different spot, I'm open for suggestions!

Fall Decorating

Wow! It's feeling more like November than October! I did some fall decorating a while back and snapped a few photos to share. I do have some gorgeous mums on the porch and beside the porch, but it's been too rainy to get out there and get a picture. Maybe we'll have a sunny day sometime in the near future and I can have a little walk around the yard and take photos of my fall plants. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my little bit of fall decor.
